Recorded at the Odeon, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. Great audience recording. From the info file: Pink Floyd 1974-11-09 Newcastle, unknown gen (24bit/96kHz) Pink Floyd The Odeon, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England 9 November 1974 Lineage: Unknown gen cassettes (Sony HF90 normal position) > *Technics RS-B965-M > Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 > Audacity 1.3 > FLAC (24bit/96kHz) xACT used to create FFP *The Technics RS-B965-M is a modified deck - for details see the Tapeheads.net forum 01 Shine On You Crazy Diamond 02 Raving And Drooling 03 Gotta Be Crazy 04 The Dark Side Of The Moon (fades) 05 The Dark Side Of The Moon (continues) Encore 06 Echoes Total running time 131 mins 14 secs A raw mono transfer of my unknown gen cassettes that I received from an experienced collector in the early 1990s. I used the right channel of both tapes for this transfer because it was louder, brighter and less hissy. The only other change I made was to adjust the gain for each side. Roger sounds suitably crazy as he announces Gotta Be Crazy: 'This another new one - they're all new.' Unfortunately the song fades out at the end. The new songs are the high point of this recording but I get the impression that the audience took the opposite view. The Dark Side Of The Moon fades out during Any Colour You Like and continues on the other side of my tape with Brain Damage. Echoes cuts frustratingly early with the end of Side C. It would have been better if my source, or whoever is responsible in the lineage, had not attempted to combine SOYCD and Echoes on the same side. I corrected the song order on the cassettes because it was wrong: Side A: 04 Side B: 05, 02, 03 Side C: 01, 06 Neonknight, May 2013 |
