Recorded at the City Hall, Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK. Good audience recording. From the info files: City Hall Cass 24bit - (Feb 12,1972 Sheffield,England) Vg/Vg+ (1dvd) Comments: Aud- 2xTDK SA90's>Sony CFD-G500>SB X-Fi Xtrememusic>Cooledit Pro>FLAC48khz/24bit does sound better than city hall and live for today. this is unprocessed so i like it better than the 2nd gen also. sound is a vg but sometimes sounds vg+. like the darkside set. it sounds decent. 110:07 --- SHEFFIELD 12.2.72 UNKNOWN GENERATION Label: from MB tapes / transferred by pinkrudy on february 2008 Date & Place: City Hall, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, February 12th 1972 Sound Quality: VG- Source: Audience (source 2) Generation: cass[?] > Sony CFD-G500 > SB X-Fi Xtrememusic > Cooledit Pro > WAV 24/48 > FLAC 24/48 Tape Source: TDK SA90 Unknown Generation cassettes Total Time: 110:09m 1. ONE OF THESE DAYS / CWTAE / SPEAK TO ME > U&T intro (fade out) (44:57m) 2. U&T fade in at very beginning > ECLIPSE / SET THE CONTROLS (38:19m) 3. ECHOES (26:54m) Slight upgrade but a nice one. Sounds more defined than the City Hall release, has better bass, and drums are also clearer, it's hissy but it doesnt compromise the definition as on the other release, and also, Echoes is finally complete from unique source no patch. One thing i noticed now that some highs are present is like the drums have a kind of echoed sound which i havent noticed on the other release, like the taper wasnt in a good position. Anyway, now it's listenable. Also, i checked the 2nd generation version and this one is also better. -gbc |
