My father has been battling cancer for several months and when I got a message from taper roman79 on Wednesday saying he couldn’t make it and could I tape the show I had to regretfully decline. On Thursday morning my father passed away and when roman79 contacted me back to say he hadn’t been able to find a taper I decided to go. I knew it’d be hard but I thought it would be good to get out and do something. I’m glad to say I was right. It was really therapeutic being around so many happy people listening to great music and for a few hours it took the edge off the pain. The show was fantastic and the sound perfect which was great as Allphones arena can be hit and miss in my experience. I’m really pleased with the recording, there’s some talkers in the quiet sections but that’s live recording for you… A huge thanks to roman79 for the opportunity to go, This recording is dedicated to my father, Tony Fowke 23/10/1935 – 12/12/2013 may you forever rest in peace. |
