Recorded at the Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, CA, USA. Great audience recording.

From the info file:

*repost*
this was originally uploaded with the filler tracks on disc 3 as Sandy made them but dime listeners have identified those filler tracks as 'Is There Anybody Out There? .. recorded at London's Earls Court Arena during the band's performances of The Wall in August of 1980 and June of 1981' an official release. So the filler tracks have been removed, and what is now offered is a complete concert, no fillers.

Those of you who downloaded the first torrent and would like to seed this, or only partially downloaded the original torrent, delete the .txt file, the .ffp file and any tracks from disc 3 except tracks 1, 2 and 3.

After talking to a mutual taper friend, I think that Sandy patched out of someone named Chuck who was flying the KM54's that night. This would have been a little before Sandy purchased his KM254's or I'm sure he would have used those.

a site I found online gave this as the setlist that night:

Astronomy Domine
Learning To Fly
What Do You Want From Me
On The Turning Away
A Great Day For Freedom
Sorrow
Take It Back
Keep Talking
One Of These Days
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts I - V)
Breathe
Breathe (reprise)
High Hopes
Wish You Were Here
Another Brick In The Wall - part 2
The Great Gig In The Sky
Us And Them
Money
Comfortably Numb
Hey You
Run Like Hell

[Pottel commented on the original torrent: 'one little note to the setlist:
they started with Astronomy Domine, as can be found here (not this exact recording, but just an example of one of many recs for this evening)
http://www.pf-db.com/index.php?concert_id=221&bootleg_id=268 ' Easy Ed adds - thanks for that Pottel, it turns out that was the exact site where I found the setlist in the first place only I apparently haven't learned to copy and paste properly ]

I am not that familiar with Pink Floyd's output so I can't identify the songs except the obvious ones like Money, Another Brick, etc.

I'm sure plenty of folks were recording that night and that various versions have been circulating for years, maybe even one from 'Chuck's' recording with the same mikes, and I know Sandy would have shared discs of this (but I think he only recently transferred it to cdrs) but just in case some Floyd fans out there haven't had a copy direct from this DAT master, here it is.

I listened to some of this in my studio, on studio monitors, and damn the sound was well done at that concert (soundmen don't always do a good job and venues don't always sound good but apparently it sounded good that night where Sandy was sitting) and damn Sandy got a good capture!

Stella, Sandy's soulmate (and now widow) send us this email today: 'Sandy's physical form with be leaving us today at 3:30 west coast time. I'd say you should all start getting ready at 20 after the hour, put on some appropriate music, and remember our dear sweet Sandy. I REALLY enjoy hearing your stories and reflections of Sandy.'

I drove to my wife's office at that time, she came out and we went to her car and listened to the version of The Beatles 'In My Life' that was performed at Sandy and Stella's wedding ceremony (by Jeff and Dave of Yonder Mountain String Band and David Thom and some of the guys from Hot Buttered Rum String Band). While we listened we held hands and thought of Sandy. Yes we cried.

[Correction by Stella: It was just the Yonder guys performing 'In My Life,' no one else.]

[response by Easy Ed: I wouldn't dare to correct Stella, but I have a picture of David Thom and Jeff in the trees behind 'the stage' trying to work out a song, which it would seem to me would have been 'In My Life'. Someone is singing harmony with Jeff...could it have been Ben not David?]

I've been grieving these last six days but I'm getting better. Stella has come out of isolation and is interacting with the world a little now. I'm confident we'll heal. As you might surmise, she has some very good friends who have been rallying around their sister in pain.

I read this today: 'despair is ultimately destructive to oneself and a burden to others: and if one persists in it, the gods will sooner or later lose patience and give one something to really despair about.' What I've been feeling is not despair, but grief yet I will report that some hopeful thoughts have been coming up as I think about Stella's future.

~~~~~~ Bigfoot Memorial ~~~~~~
I am devastated that my friend, Sandy A. (aka Bigfoot, aka Sasquatch) passed away on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the age of 'forty-something'. Even though he had been struggling with health issues for four years, and even though when I spoke to him on June 3rd he was suffering and he said his wife was worn pretty thin, I truly believed he would get better. It never even occurred to me that he wouldn't get better. I and the other people who knew and loved him feel a great loss to no longer have him in our lives.
Our friendship started with our shared passion for taping shows. I helped Sandy get his first computer and showed him how to do a clean, all digital transfer and master to cdr, and over the years he shared many of his recordings with me. We know Sandy is setting up a great taping rig in heaven to record the jams of the great musicians up there (unfortunately God's girlfriend is one of the singers) but I wish he was still here with all of us.
Our friendship grew beyond just sharing music and taping. Sandy was a Buddha-like, god-like figure in my mind. He was one of the best people I have ever known, always so kind and generous to others. He was a shining example of how not to take on other people's shit and how to not be judgemental. I am questioning whether Karma does exist, because Sandy was as good a person as I can imagine and deserved many more years of joy with his loving wife and his many friends and the many bands he grooved to and became friends with.
Many other people had many different (non-taping) connections with Sandy. He loved fishing. He loved gardening. He loved music and saw tons of shows, not only his old standbys like Neil Young, Jackson Browne and SCI, but new up and coming bands (many of whom he helped attain national recognition) like Yonder Mountain String Band, Hot Buttered Rum String Band and others. He loved his wife, who very much loved him too, and for whom I wish I could absorb some of the pain she must be feeling.
But Sandy, despite his many interests, was about his connections with people. If you would have taken away taping, he would have missed it but been ok. If you took away music, he would have missed it but been ok. But I know that he would not have been ok if he didn't have his friends.
I would like to celebrate one of the sides of Sandy that I shared, that is, taping of concerts, by offering up some of the many, many wonderful audience recordings that he made over the years.
Sandy was always sharing his recordings with his friends (kinda like Harpo Marx, who'd put his leg in your hand if you stood next to him: if you got near Sandy, you'd end up with cds in your hand), so these are not uncirculated by any means, but they may be recordings that some of you have never had access to before.
Sandy didn't have high speed internet and earlier this year I told him about torrent sites and asked him if it'd be ok to share his recordings online. He answered with a resounding, clear YES (with the understanding that certain artists, venues and shows were 'no-copies')
People, don't wait til the wonderful among us have passed on to thank them and celebrate them. We are each but a brief, passing flame, flickering in the wind. Nurture and rejoice in the warmth and light while we have it.
Tearfully yours,
Easy Ed
