Recorded at the Eventim Apollo, London, UK. Excellent audience recording. Note that there's a small error in the setlist in the info file below: 08 should be [Astronomer/And Dream Of Sheep- Video] 09 should be Under Ice From the info file: Kate Bush 'Before The Dawn' 2014-09-26 Eventim Apollo (Formerly Hammersmith Odeon) Hammersmith, London, UK (Incomplete - missing last song: Cloudbusting) [PersistentSound] Schoeps CCM4->Sound Devices 744T (96K, 24bit) Mics mounted X-Y slightly above audience head level, Stalls Row S, just off center. (This row is slightly forward of the Circle overhang.) Normalized, Tracked, Batch Converted to 48K, 16-bit flac in Vegas Pro 13 (Normalized by bringing the peak level for the performance as a whole to -0.1dB and allowing Waves Ultramaximizer+ to limit the louder audience noise which occurs almost exclusively between songs.) [01] Intro [02] Lili [03] Hounds Of Love [04] Joanni [05] Top Of The City [06] Running Up That Hill [07] King Of The Mountain [08] [Astronomer- Video] [09] And Dream Of Sheep [Video] [10] Waking The Witch [11] [Helicopter Search- Live] [12] [Father And Son- Live] [13] Watching You Without Me [14] Interlude [15] Jig Of Life [16] Hello Earth [17] Morning Fog [18] [Banter] [19] Sky Of Honey [20] [Thanks, Banter] [21] Among Angels Some may dislike how all of Sky Of Honey is a single track. Sorry, that's how official re-releases track it - guess its just a matter of preference. Re-track it if you want. This is the night the power to the venue was lost prior to the show which started more than an hour late as a result. Due to my concern about a potentially abrupt start I left the recording running and unfortunately missed the last song due to a battery failure. References to the power failure can be heard in Kate's banter and in the Father and Son skit. In an effort to enjoy the show with no concerns over technical issues the recording was made with levels safely low. After considering this, and the S/N of the equipment, there are not more than 16-bits of real signal available, so a 24-bit render would be pointless. Infinite thanks to Kate for these amazing shows in such an intimate venue where they could really be enjoyed by the adoring audience. She could easily have sold-out the O2 for several nights and its a clear show of care and concern for her fans that that is not what happened. There was no aspect of the performance that was imperfect. An interesting fact: Fifteen minutes prior to the show starting an announcement was made indicating that anyone who wanted to leave within the first 30 minutes of the performance could receive a full refund due to the delay. Surprisingly, some people did actually leave early, some even prior to the start of the show. The venue refilled these seats making them available to fans still waiting to get in, gratis. Very classy. Can't wait for the DVD/Blu-Ray. It would be wonderful if it were authored multi-angle - there was so much to see. Please show your support by purchasing it and any other official Kate Bush releases that might be missing from your collection. |
