Recorded at the Theatre des Champs-Élysées, Paris, France. Very good audience recording. From the info file: LDB Special Series #499 (-1 to the end of the Special Series!) Out of my 17,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I'd like to propose you. Most of these come from my cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won't be disappointed! I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my reward for all the work involved in this project. DO NOT share this music on mp3, just convert it for your own use. Sharing mp3's is the right way to make me stop sharing music here. This series will end with release #500! This is a rare, complete, recording of Kate's only show in Paris, during her 1979 tour. This was held at the rather elegant Theatre des Champs-Élysées in avenue Montaigne. I got this one about 20 years ago from a friend who got a copy from the taper. All I could know is that the equipment he recorded the show was not the most modern one but I think this is a nice sounding recording for 1979. The setlist is not a surprise since it did not change during the whole tour, but of course playing the Gymnopedie in the country of Satie was a kind of special. I would rate the sound of this as 7/10, a bit hissy but on the other side the audience is not heard a lot and not disturbing the performance. Haven't seen this one circulating in a full version. There must be a boot LP around with part of the show. Enjoy! ldb |
