Recorded at the Philips Veranstaltungshalle, Dusseldorf, Germany. Great audience recording. From the info file: Pink Floyd 1971-06-04 Dusseldorf, Recorder 1, unknown gen (24bit/96kHz) Pink Floyd Philips Veranstal Tungshalle, Dusseldorf, Germany 4 June 1971 Lineage: Maxell XLII-S 90 unknown gen cassettes> *Technics RS-B965-M > Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 > Reaper v4.61 > FLAC (24bit/96kHz) *The Technics RS-B965-M is a modified deck - for details see the Tapeheads.net forum xACT used to create FFP 01 Atom Heart Mother 02 Careful With That Axe, Eugene 03 Fat Old Sun 04 The Embryo 05 The Return Of The Son Of Nothing 06 Set the Controls For The Heart Of The Sun 07 Cymbaline 08 Audience/Tuning 09 A Saucerful Of Secrets (cuts) Total running time 1 hour 45 mins 35 secs I obtained my cassettes from a very experienced German collector in January 1996. The songs are in the wrong order on the tapes. This is a mono recording that was processed as two channel stereo and I dropped the inferior channel to remove some lengthy dropouts and distortion. I released a previous transfer of my tapes with littlepieces. This transfer is better - it is brighter, more controlled and less hissy. My thanks to goldenband for his trusty speed correction advice, which led me to make corrections ranging from -3.23 to -4.88%. Note how Fat Old Sun stops dead at the peak of the jam section. It's a pity Recorder 2 doesn't capture this part as Recorder 1 cuts as soon as they stop. Neonknight, March 2015 |
