Recorded at the Amstel Free Concert, Amsterdamse Bos, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Great audience recording. From the info file: Pink Floyd 1971-06-26 Amsterdam, N Brothers, Marbal Dolby C 3rd gen (24bit/96kHz) Pink Floyd Amstel Free Concert, Amsterdamse Bos, Amsterdam, Holland, Recorder 3 26 June 1971 Lineage: Maxell XLII-S 60 3rd gen cassette > *Technics RS-B965-M > Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 > Reaper v4.61 > FLAC (24bit/96kHz) *The Technics RS-B965-M is a modified deck - for details see the Tapeheads.net forum xACT used to create FFP 01 Careful With That Axe, Eugene 02 Cymbaline Total running time 19 mins 54 secs Like Recorder 1, this recording is the work of the N brothers from Hamburg. An outstanding capture, it’s likely that the brothers used a Uher Report reel to reel and two Sennheiser microphones at high speed as they did for 25 February 1971. Marbal’s copy, which he received from his trading contact Chris D in February 1992, is unusual for being recorded with Dolby C. I switched it on for playback because the tape sounded a lot worse in the off position. My only change was to apply a speed correction of +2.33% using élastique 2.28 Pro. With thanks to goldenband for his speed correction advice. Marbal cassette / Neonknight tape transfer, March 2015 |
