Notes: Ticket Price: £16 (adv.) Focus are: Thijs van Leer - Hammond-organ, flute and vocals Menno Gootjes - guitar Bobby Jacobs - bass Pierre van der Linden - drums A welcome return (since last time in March 2015) .. and as usual a great performance by all band members... my recording has a mild stereo image that gives you a feel of the sound from right in front of the stage: keys/guitar on the left & bass/drums on the right... the in-your-face sound is representative of the room on the night. Only a minor shake up to the set list with 3 different tunes compared to last time (plus a different ending to Eruption which was cool)... still all good stuff nevertheless. The crowd was generally well behaved with only minimal chatter throughout the gig .. but there was one guy who got carried away with his very annoying syncopated, out of time, flamenco style clapping all the way through Le Tango .... I've tried hard during mastering to make him dissappear. For those interested - basic details of the mastering applied to my original LS-14 recording (using Wavelab 6, HarBal 2.3 & iZotope RX5) are as follows: A: Balance left & right channel volume & frequency response B: Apply balancing EQ C: Declick (to minimise intrusive clapping) D: Adjust stereo image E: Apply Compression / Limiting (-1dB max) / Dithering to 16bit F: fade ins & outs G: track split A note for any finicky audiophiles out there: Mastering has been done to polish the raw master recording with the aim of enhancing the listening experience. If you prefer virgin recordings, unspoiled by any such amateur 'dabbling' then do not join in on this one. Be warned now ... I don't want any whingeing! ;-) But for the rest of you Dime'ers I recommend that you GO FOR THIS ONE ... you won't be disappointed! I score the sound quality as 9 out of 10 ( = A- ); but hey! ... don't flame me if you don't agree ... & at least keep it friendly ;-) If you have any comments, whether positive, negative or otherwise, I would love to read them ... don't be a lurker! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SUPPORT THE ARTIST BY BUYING THEIR STUFF!
