I used the right channel of both tapes for this transfer because it was louder, brighter and less hissy. The only other change I made was to adjust the gain for each side. Roger sounds suitably crazy as he announces Gotta Be Crazy: 'This another new one - they're all new.' Unfortunately the song fades out at the end. The new songs are the high point of this recording but I get the impression that the audience took the opposite view. The Dark Side Of The Moon fades out during Any Colour You Like and continues on the other side of my tape with Brain Damage. Echoes cuts frustratingly early with the end of Side C. It would have been better if my source, or whoever is responsible in the lineage, had not attempted to combine SOYCD and Echoes on the same side. Having listened to the old 16 bit version I felt parts had been undercorrected pitch wise and there were other problems that hadn't been addressed. Other than pitch adjustment I removed the odd click and bump; fixed a multitude of little drop outs in You Gotta Be Crazy; raised the volume of Us And Them thru Any Colour You Like (reduced increased hiss slightly by eq); patched the opening of Brain Damage with the extra bit present on the Mr Pinky? version; patched the end of Echoes, again via Mr Pinky. No extra tracking, and single mono wave, as per original Anyway, a much better listen now imo.
