Breathe Reprise 5. Comfortably Numb Notes: With this matrix I tried to achieve the definitive audio version of the final night of the 2016 tour. The EBR recording offers great stereo landscape with good definition in the high frequencies, but the low frequencies and drums are a bit messy with a lot of reverberation (this is probably due to EBR location in the RAH). On the other hand, Lordsnooty's recording is very solid in terms of drums presence and medium frequencies definition, but is not so clear in the high frequencies. It was therefore the ideal counterpart to the EBR recording. Actually, when I compare my remaster of EBR with the excellent remaster of the same source by Rick0725, I think we achieve almost identical results. The fact to carefully inject elements from Lordsnooty's recording allowed to improve the snare drum presence and the fidelity of Gilmour's tone. There is still some boominess, but it was attenuated compared to the original recordings (the acoustics from RAH are what they are). Now, in terms of performance, I can say that this final night of the tour was absolutely crazy. People went nuts in the middle of the Fat Old Sun solo, spontaneously standing as it was so good. During the final solo in Sorrow, the audience was so excited that most ran to the front of the stage. Last but not least, the extended solo at the end of Comfortably Numb is the most intense I've ever heard. We felt that David was not willing to end the show and this is to me the best version of CN ever. Enjoy!
