Every track has some fluctuation and by the end it is really fast. Correcting these problems would be a time consuming process. If somebody would take the challenge on this is a nice recording considering its age. You probably already have Beechwoods' 2015 transfer of stratcat58's cassettes. I believe that my copy generally has a fuller low end and subtly more crisp high end e.g. if you follow Nick's cymbals and hi-hat. I also feel that I can hear more ambience. Some might prefer the lower levels of hiss on the Beechwoods transfer; it is a matter of taste. I checked various points in the recording. My version seems to have handled the opening to Cymbaline better and there are other bits where Beechwoods' deck seems to bring out more wear in the tape than mine. My version is not an outright winner, however. I think I prefer the pings in the opening to Echoes on the Beechwoods copy, for example. If this is taking your interest,toggle between the opening five seconds to STC on the two versions for an easy point to compare that doesn't require any lining up. You might initially be pleased by the lower hiss levels on Beechwoods' copy. Listen more closely and I think you'll agree that mine has more attack. Then if you scroll forward to 3m45s on the two tapes (our transfers run at different speeds) and play to 4m, mine certainly feels fuller and closer. I'm certainly going to keep both transfers. Side A autostops after some pre-AHM tuning, which is not repeated on side B, and the opening to AHM. I have kept this as a separate track 04 and not attempted a splice. Side B rewinds a little before AHM. The recording level drops for the 60 minute tape which starts with Cymbaline. The end of side B of the 90m cassette also has some of Cymbaline, which I have included as track 08 because it sounds a bit better. All four sides were transferred at the same level on my Saffire.
