Pink Floyd 1969-04-14 Royal Festival Hall Recorder 2 (24bit/96kHz) speed corrected Royal Festival Hall, South Bank, London, England 14 April 1969 Lineage: 2nd gen cassettes (Maxell XLII) > *Technics RS-B965-M > Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 > Audacity 1.3 > FLAC (24bit/96kHz) xACT used to create FFP *The Technics RS-B965-M is a modified deck - for details see the Tapeheads.net forum 01 The Journey 02 Encore: Interstellar Overdrive Total running time: 54 mins 56 secs A raw transfer of the second half of the reel to reel audience recording of this concert that was made by or sanctioned by the band. Being semi-official you might expect this recording to be of a high standard but it is fairly typical for an amateur taping from this period. The source was transferred to cassette in the late 1990's and a copy was sent to Jon R (reel to reel > cassette > Jon R's cassette). Harvested used a mixture of Recorder 1 and Recorder 2 for their HRV CDR 009 release. This is because Jon R's source copied Recorder 1 to side A of the cassette and Recorder 2 (the second set) to side B. The encore from Recorder 2 is on a second tape. Recorder 2 also taped the first set and it still exists but it has not been circulated. The complete Recorder 2 is about 95 minutes. An obvious marker for this recorder that helps distinguish it from Recorder 1 is that after the encore as the house lights come up, someone says 'wow'. Jon R Tape / Arrangements by Ron Toon / Neonknight Cassette Transfer, November 2012 **** tezeta, Feb. 2017: Decoded to wav, then DC bias offset adjustment in Adobe Audition 3, then speed correction in Reaper with Elastique 3.1.4 Pro on normal. Reduced overall speed by rate of -0.35 semitones and rendered back to hi-res flac. **** |
