This is a gentle restoration of the bootleg that was issued 10 years ago.

Pictures of the reel and accompanying paperwork were shared in an eBay auction in April 2017 when it was offered for sale by its current owner. In correspondence the seller said the reel was the master but he advertised it as a 1st gen. The consensus at the time of writing is that it is more likely to be a 1st gen, increasing the likelihood that more Floyd songs were recorded.

Interstellar and ASOS are from different performances. For now, at least, it is generally accepted that they are from two shows on 27 July. The two captures sound quite different to one another so it is unlikely that they are from the same performance.

The Floyd's opening number was Interstellar Overdrive and they closed with A Saucerful Of Secrets on both the 26th and 27th. It would be odd for the taper to not record the songs in between. We know two of the tracks for the 27th; STC and AD. On the 26th the band played IO, Matilda Mother, STC and ASOS. My thanks to lordsnooty for these details.

There is a problem with distortion on the transfer used for the silver because the levels were set too hot. I was able to improve things using iZotope's digital clipping repair tool. The bootleg is a dual mono transfer, so no work was required in respect of the channels.

The recording required a minor speed correction which was dealt with by tezeta: decoded to wav, DC bias adjustment in Audition 3, then increased speed +0.27 semitones in Reaper
with Elastique 3.1.4 Pro on normal.

I have included the photos that accompanied the eBay auction in the folder. A handbill for the date confirms that the venue was Shrine Exposition Hall rather the Shrine Auditorium.
