Pink Floyd - 1980-02-26 - 1st gen reel-to-reel (Recorder 2) This one is claimed to come from a reel-to-reel 1st gen source. Using YGBC database, I gather this one is Source 1 of Recorder 2. Source 2 was used for the 1st gen of the presumably lost master and its revsion 1980-02-26 - Together We Stand... (Reindexed) (FA003) , as well as possibly WWRM009 (which is not Recorder 1 as sometimes listed.) The most notable feature of this recording is the almost palpable hiss. However, it lacks the digital clicks of the two aforementioned renditions. Also, this one has more natural sounding instruments (notably brass percussion) and captures more of their overtones (note for example the beautiful preservation of the delay on Run Like Hell). The 'Source 2' versions are clearer (de-hissed?), but more unbalanced towards the lows. Also this one sounds a bit faster compared to the other two. All in all, much rawer source wither overall better frequencies. This comes broken down into three chunks. Track 101 - Master of Ceremonies (partial) --> One of My Turns 44:26 Track 201 - Don't Leave Me Now --> In the Flesh 42:09 Track 202 - Run Like Hell - - > Outside the Wall; EXTRA: King Crimson - The Great Deceiver (Live) 27:38 Total time: 114:13 Originally downloaded from PinkRoIOSHN.
