Porcupine Tree De Nieuwe Pul, Uden, Netherlands January 7th, 1994 Delerium Promo VHS > Unknown > DVD > To FLAC Converter Lite > FLAC (24/48) > Audacity > FLAC 1. Up The Downstair 2. Radioactive Toy 3. Burning Sky 4. Always Never 5. Voyage 34 // I have always suspected that the recording I had of this was taken from the very rare Delerium promo VHS that was released in 1994. After going back to a DVD I have of the original VHS I think I was correct. The audience noises appear to be the same and the running time is near enough the same. This is a version of the audio extracted from my DVD. I used To FLAC Converter Lite and it produced a 24/48 file. This may be overkill, but I've kept everything like this for the time being. The file created needed some editing as it produced gaps between each song. If you compare the original CDR, you'll notice that a similar thing has been done, but my transitions are a lot smoother and less noticeable. You'll also notice that I've reinstated Steven's 'Thank you, this is Radioactive Toy' after Up The Downstair. Apart from this, the only other editing was to normalise the volume to -1db. Tracks we then split, keeping the 24/48 resolution. The show itself is a really good one and features the very rarely played full suite of Voyage 34 (unfortunately cut before the end). Sound is very good to excellent, albeit slightly muffled, with a good balance of instruments. Burning Sky and Voyage 34 are real highlights here. Small Fish / May 2020 |
