Sure there were a couple of technical problems, Steven started losing his voice towards the end of the show, and tube travel problems, causing them to abandon playing Sleep of No Dreaming, but the choice of material for the setlist was great after having seen them touring FOABP four times now. SW had a few of us chortling with his 'just for the sake of confusing future tape traders and bootleggers, I'm gonna say Good Evening Philadelphia - it really annoys them' line. However, he blew it with the next introduction by talking about playing in London. :-) It was also great to hear that the band are currently writing material for the next album, so I imagine that this time next year might see a tour for the next episode in the Porcupine Tree story. The band are certainly going from strength to strength as far as their international popularity goes. Personal favourites of the night? Stars Die, the wonderful Half Light, and Strip The Soul / .3. YMMV. Recorded from about 30' back from the RH stack. The only annoying bit is that the stereo riffing during Anesthetize pans from LH to RH stacks, so the LH is much quiter than the RH (where I was standing). You can't win 'em all! I ran the high pass filter at 80Hz to remove some of the overpowering bass, but haven't bothered with anything else other than fades. There is some crowd noise, talking, but it's not too bad. I thought 'the faithful' attending this particular gig would have managed to keep it buttoned for two hours. :-) Please support the band by buying their albums & merch - plenty to choose from - and by going to see them live. http://www.porcupinetree.com/ http://www.myspace.com/porcupinetree http://www.burningshed.com/store/porcupinetree/ http://www.theindigo2.com/ No art - make your own! Do not sell this recording - trade freely! ...and for God's sake, don't give it to Dorothy Sherman... :-) Enjoy |
