| Camel June 09, 2018 Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht, Netherlands 'Playing Moonmadness in its entirety - Tour' Recorded on Zoom H1 recorder, with Aiwa CM-TS23 external microphone. Files came out nice. They were already 16 bit / 44.1 kHz. Only thing done in Cool Edit Pro was adding 8Db of volume, using the 'hard limiting' function. Tracks were split in CD Wave Editor. Converted to Flac (level 6) with Taper's Little Helper. This recording is a different one from the Floydiandolf (id=623598) and the biddie 'raw one' (id=623630). Is biddie's recording raw? Wow. Yeah, I like them raw :-). I must admit, that even though my recording is really pretty nice, biddie's one is of extraterrestial quality. Coincidence had it, that biddie and I never met before, but were seated next to each other. 'Hey, are you taping?' While taking out my own Zoom H1, I saw him fumbling with his recorder. Anyway, I have a very old Aiwa microphone attached to the Zoom H1. The Zoom H1 mics pick up everything, including the sounds you don't want to hear, which can be annoying, while the Aiwa is slightly less sensitive and offers a much milder bass sound. The quality overall is definitely very good (I still dare say...). There are minute drops in quality (audible for example in Hymn to Her), because the mic didn't want to stay where I put it. The clip didn't stick on my thin coat. But overall these drops can only be heard if you listen very carefully. Overall a very nice recording of a great gig.
