Waters, Roger - Harbours Of Waters (Part 1) |
Notes |
Recorded at the Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium. Great audience recording (a bit heavy on the bass). From the info file: ROGER WATERS Harbours of Waters With thanks to the 'Brummen' gang, this tree is titled: 'Harbours of Waters'. Why? Because both cities are among the top 5 biggest harbours in the world! (The 'waters' part should be obvious :-) ) Other similarities are that both cities (though in different countries) are dutch-speaking, the venue was an indoor sport-hall (with original focus on bicycle racing). Port 1: Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium, 13 may 2002 ------------------------------------------------------- Copies of the Antwerp show have been floating around for a while now (known as 'Amused in Antwerp') but with all respect to the taper (Hi X) there were a few small flaws: Another Brick omits the beginning and the taper's girlfriend is quite talkative. The copy I now managed is from a different source and also a little bit better. However, that one is missing the first two minutes of 'In the Flesh', the last part of 'Shine On' and some of the applause in between 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Flickering flame'. The missing parts at 'In the Flesh' and 'Shine On' have been edited in from the 'Amused in Antwerp' recording. The latter recording is less in quality, so an effort was made to brush it up. A major improvement could be established but unfortunately, the difference still remains quite obvious. The show itself I do not consider as one of the elite. As a matter of fact, I found this particular show only average. Certainly the first set felt as if the band needed to 'get into it'. Port 2: Ahoy, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 15 May 2002 ---------------------------------------------------------- So far, only a copy of the first half of the show was available (known as 'De Halve van Rotterdam'). This show has extremely well soundquality. Unfortunately, the first few minutes are missing as well as the second part of the show. Recently a more complete copy showed up, but that one has a little bit lesser sound quality. Not that it's bad....but there is a difference. For this tree, the show is joint from both sources. The 'halve' didn't need any processing, but the other source has been brushed up (enourmously!) and there's now hardly any difference notable. This show was next after Antwerp and certainly a much (much!) better performance. During this show, some jerk managed to climb on the catwalk during 'It's A Miracle' altough you cannot hear this disturbance on the recording. During 'Comfortably Numb' there were some technical soundproblems on stage. There was this typical clicking sound from a loose contact. You can hear Roger asking 'if this now Ok?' before Flickering Flame. Ships cargo - ------------ Please note: These shows are on 4 disks (80 min. required).
