Hooray at last a show with lineage:-

1st Gen Tapes > EAC > CD > Amadeus II Amplify 30% > CD

Thats right, all I have done here is just amplify the sound by a small amount. This show is so complete it has the music that was played over the PA as the audience left the auditorium into the snowy winters night.

Below is what was sent to me to by the man who attended this show and sent me the CD's. So I send a big big thank you to Bob Cooney for sharing this show with us.

From Bob

I can remember seeing a full page ad in the New York Times in late 1979 announcing that Pink Floyd tickets were going on sale the next day.Ê Having missed the last tour in 1977, I was going to make darn sure to get tickets this time around.Ê Though I had to resort to going to a broker to get them, I got 4 tickets for 20th row dead center on the floor for February 27, 1980 at 40 dollars each.Ê Well worth it......and the wait was just as exciting, watching Pink Floyd rocket up the charts and become a household name.

The 27th of February finally did arrive, and upon arriving at the Nassau Coliseum I quickly bought my program and t-shirt and headed inside.Ê This was to be my first concert ever!Ê To this day, some 24 years later, it still remains the best show I have ever seen.Ê Funny thing is, I knew that then when I witnessed it.

Fully primed for the show I had no idea that was not Pink Floyd for the opening song.Ê I realized it years later upon watching the now famous video from that very night.Ê Sneaky fellas pulled that one off without a hitch.Ê A memorable concert highlighted by David Gilmour's appearance atop the wall and the much anticipated toppling of the wall at the end of the show.Ê It truly was a stunning performance.Ê Imagine walking out of the arena, big band music playing, open mouthed with wild staring eyes being greeted by a fresh 3 inches of snow on the ground.Ê Still snowing, the crowd left in silent and stunned disbelief.

I can't thank my great friend Karen, whom I met discussing Pink Floyd years later, for sharing the 1st gen tapes that make up this 2 cd set.Ê What a wonderful surprise it was when Karen presented the tapes to me!Ê Thanks again Karen!
