Pink Floyd - Off The Wall |

Notes |
Taken from a promo LP, probably for use at radio stations, since it contains all special edits and no segues into next songs. Very interesting. From the info file: Pink FLoyd Off the Wall Promo only 'White Label' LP release from 1979. These shn's were generously provided to me by Digital Reproductions See notes at bottom for further credits. *************** Notes *************** See review at bottom for detailed information. *************** Posting Info *************** This disc will be posted over a 2 day period. *************** Repost Info *************** I will post segment fills as required. If a segment is missing on your server, please split the file and download and save the parts that are available so that they don't expire off the server before the missing segment is filled. Help me to help you. I generally don't do full track reposts unless there is a screw-up on my end. Please help each other with needed full track reposts in the .shn repost group. I've received several requests for repost requests for the past few shows I've uploaded, and I've filled some of those requests as no one else seemed up to it. It would be appreciated if some of you who don't upload original material could help me out by filling any necessary full track reposts to the repost group. I normally hold the .shn files for 4 days on my hard drive, before I delete them. Please make your segment requests prior to that. ************** Disc info: Pink Floyd - Off the Wall Media: 1 CD Record Label: Columbia Records Catalog Number: AS 736 Release Information: Promo only 'White Label' LP release from 1979. Source: LP Quality: EX ---------------------------------------------------- Track Listing Another Brick in the Wall (part 2) (edit) 3:18 Goodbye Blue Sky 2:26 Young Lust (alternate mix) 3:29 One of My Turns 3:35 Hey You 4:38 Nobody Home 3:33 Comfortably Numb 6:21 Run Like Hell (alternate mix) 4:42 ---------------------------------------------------- Who1Zep: 'I noticed two special versions that I do not know to be available on any other Floyd official or bootleg release. Young Lust had the special outro, without the phone call overdub. That's what I bought it for. (Incidentally, Comfortably Numb did not have the blip in the first second of the song, which is present on my regular Columbia vinyl release, the original Harvest CD and remastered Columbia CD.) The other special version is Run Like Hell, which I cannot recall ever hearing before. The overdubs were not present in either the intro or outro. Hearing Gilmour's guitar intro by itself was awesome. That is coolest short guitar part Gilmour ever did, and I was quite surprised to hear it by itself after all these years.' Digital Dan: Thanks to Who1Zep's generousity in allow DR to use this rather rare and unique source, other Pink Floyd fans can also enjoy this special EP release. The LP itself was in excellent condition and relatively free of any surface noise or crackle & pop. Considering the lack of forthcoming from Pink Floyd or Columbia, this kind of rare material will likely remain in vaults with the master tapes not making it to CD. So this is about as good as it is going to get. |
