Pink Floyd - (Whitman) Tape Source |

This was probably recorded at the Saarlandhalle, Saarbrucken, Germany (or at the Falkoner Centret, Copenhagen, Denmark, 12 November 1970 - the 2nd show). 'Blues' recorded at the Stadthalle, Offenbach, Germany, on 26 February 1971. Great audience recording. From the info file: Pink Floyd November 11, 1970 Konserthuset Gothenburg, Sweden Lineage: Cassette -> CDR -> FLAC DISC 1 (39:24) 1 Libest Space Monitor 2 The Embryo 3 Fat Old Sun 4 Green is the Colour DISC 2 (41:05) 1 A Saucerful of Secrets 2 Atom Heart Mother (slightly cut) 3 Blues Total Time: 80:29 Notes: Transferred from an unknown generation analog cassette and seeded on it EZtree a little while back. This is not a bootleg release, the seeder appears to be a tape trader, but unfortunately does not have generation information. A good/fair audience recording. It's incomplete (at least 'Careful with that Axe, Eugene' is missing, and probably 'Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun'), but it does include one of the few recorded versions of 'Libest Space Monitor', which serves as a lead-in to 'The Embryo'. Originally marked 71-2-6, corrected date - Libest Space Monitor is an impro version of Moonhead Please note that Blues is definitely from Offenbach 26Feb71 (all the circulating versions of the mysterious 11/11 or 12/12/1970 show have Blues from Offenbach). According to this site < http://xoomer.virgilio.it/saravidoniguidoni/roiodetails/70/ >, the ultimate version would be 'Pictures Of Pink Floyd' (EX-), but you also need to complete it with 'Green Is The Colour' and the 'Atom Heart Mother' announcement, available on 'Command Performance' in VG+ quality. -Furry_Animal last edited - 2004-12-26 : orig entered - 2004-12-26 |
