Lineage: Unknown gen VHS > VCR (JVC HR-S7000) > DVR (Sony RDR-HX725) > DVD-RW > DVD-Lab. Specs: Video: MPEG2, 9000 kbps, 25.00 FPS, 720x576 4:3 PAL. Audio: AC3, 256 kb/s CBR. Notes: First of all: this is *NOT* an upgrade! This comes (most likely) from a different source than '(2nd) Hand of Fate'. '2nd Hand of Fate' is an upgrade, of the original 'Hand of Fate'. Check out the screenshots to see the difference between '2nd Hand of Fate' and 'Yet another Hand of Fate'. So, to summarize: this is not an upgrade, it's just (slightly) different. Personally, I'd prefer '2nd Hand of Fate' over 'Yet another Hand of Fate', except for 'Run Like Hell'. As you can see in the screenshots, the overall image in '2nd Hand of Fate' is 'softer' than in 'Yet another Hand of Fate'. During 'Run Like Hell', '2nd Hand of Fate' has a lot of horizontal lines, 'Yet another Hand of Fate' doesn't have these. I believe the taper realized he was running out of tape and switched his cam to 'LP' when he recorded 'Run Like Hell'. Sound and picture quality are worse than the rest of the recording, but I think this is the case on the master already. This is my transfer from a VHS I bought back in 1998. The footage turned out to be some kind of 'bonus' after the Roger Waters 'Omni, 2 September 1987' recording. Picture and sound quality are pretty bad. Since I *bought* this tape, I have no idea about the lineage. I decided to transfer and share it because it's different (and, IMHO *better* during 'Run Like Hell') than the version currently circulating ('2nd Hand of Fate'). This is for completists only. If you only need one version of this recording, I'd recommend '2nd Hand of Fate'. As KoolKat already mentioned in his notes for '2nd Hand of Fate': '...it is now the best available until the rumored full 2 1/2 hour tape surfaces...' I'd like to add to this comment: 'Yet another Hand of Fate' is a nice companion to '2nd Hand of Fate' until the rumored full 2 1/2 hour tape surfaces... ;) ~LTE March 2009 |
