I've been taping shows for more than 20 years and have an awful lot of masters. Most of them are in the old cassette format, some others are on MiniDisc and others are on CD. I've taped many shows of many artists over the years, so don't be surprised if you will find many different artists taped! Some shows are already circulating, some others have not circulated through collectors yet. But most of all, enjoy! They all come from my masters! When I heard that IQ (one of my favourite band back in the 80's) was the opening act from Mike & Mechanics I was glad the band had made it to have a proper european tour and wanted to see as many shows as possible. On the other hand, this meant watching Mechanics' set many times which was not what I was looking forward. Milano was the second date of the tour and my first of the three shows I attended of that tour (the other two being Geneve and Paris) and definetely the most fun. It was my hometown after all! I arrived early at the venue to cheer the band (and have an authograph from Mike Rutherford!) and see the soundcheck. Unfortunately for IQ, they were forced to start their set 45 minutes before the scheduled time, which meant that when the first notes of No Love Lost hit the hall, there must have been around 30 people in the audience. Many people who came to the show just to see IQ arrived at the last notes of Common Ground! After IQ's set we managed to organize an after-show party at the pub just nearby the theatre, which took place during the Mechanics' show. There were more than 40 people there! The band celebrated the nice show with us, drinking and singing. There must have a private video footage circulating because I remember somebody filming during the evening. It was a great evening, both for the show and the party! Mike & the Mechanics performance? Sorry I really cannot tell, I left after the first track... Enjoy! ldb |
