Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Boston |

Recorded at the Underground, Boston, MA. Very good audience recording. From the info file: this is one show I saw knowing absolutely nothing about the band, club, anything related to the show. Orch. Man. in the dark? even though there's NO WAY this will sound anything like Mahavishnu Orch, (and they do not) still sounds interesting, so let's go. this is a short set but I think it's all in here. at least one fellow dimer mentioned liking early OMD, and this is early, not long after their first album came out. I think this is from my master tape, not really certain of that, but can't imagine who else I'd get an OMD Boston show from. it is the only OMD live recording I have (unless maybe also an FM show from later?) memories are vague, but the tape has hardly been played, and I don't think I've ever copied it for anyone before. there's not alot of this band's recordings circulating, and at least a few folks here who like them, so have some OMD, on me. happy Memorial Day weekend to our alternative/electronic music fans on dime (and all the others too). the sound quality is not great, but it's in a very small club so all the music can be heard easily. some samples are in comments. Ian Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (thanks to davemings for confirming this is the band line up) Andy McCluskey: lead vocals, bass (and most songwriting) Paul Humphreys: keyboards, vocals Dave Hughes: synthesizers Malcolm Holmes: drums the Underground Boston, Mass.
