Recorded at Veronica's Rock Night, Ahoy, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Great recording, taken from a TV broadcast. From the info file: Propaganda - Ahoy Rotterdam October 26 1985 DVD Here's the DVD of the Propaganda 1985 Veronica show in The Netherlands. It was recorded from dutch television on a Betamax recorder. I've downloaded this from a newsgroup. No info how the dvd was made. 01 Intro 02 Dream Within a Dream 03 Dr. Mabuse 04 Murder of Love 05 The Chase 06 Femme Fatale 07 Sorry For Laughing 08 Duel 09 Jewel 10 Frozen Faces 11 p;Machinery Susanne Freytag Claudia Brücken Ralf Dörper Michael Mertens Derek Forbes Brian McGee Length: 41.37 Standard: PAL Video: MPEG-2, 720 x 576, 4/3, 25 fps Audio: DVD_LPCM_AUDIO Upped by Borland 21st March 2012 Above is basically the original text from Dimeadozen.org. The quality of the video is so good I was doubtful this ever came into contact with magnetic tape. After a bit of reading up, apparently Sony's Betamax WAS that good! It lost the domestic battle to VHS (mainly due to cost) but was the preferrered choice of professionals. It also introduced Pulse Code Modulation audio so thank you Sony. Some may recognise bassist Derek Forbes and drummer Brian McGee, both ex-Simple Minds. There's also a tenuous Pink Floyd connection - David Gilmour played guitar on 'Only One Word', on the album '1234'. I've enclosed cover artwork by frankvink. |
