| Excellent compilation of 'The Resistance' videos. Credits go to Rodrigo (Benit) for sending me the original canvas which I altered to match this release. Notes: VIDEO For each video, I used the highest resolution source I could find. After trying to to use Promo DVDs as a source, I realised that when cropped (they were originally 16:9 footage letterboxed to a 4:3 presentation), they looked quite bad, whilst the downscaled HD videos looked way better. So I converted each video from its HD source to a DVD compliant MPEG-2 file using AVS Video Converter. For Resistance, I cropped the pillarbox black bars from the sides away to keep the original 4:3 video. For MK ULTRA, I used entheogen's source recorded off MTV Germany's MTV ROCKS show. I upscaled and cropped the video to fit a 16:9 presentation (hence the black bars around the frame). For the new version of the Neutron Star Collision music video, I ripped the video directly off the directo Anthony Mandler's website at LetFilms.com. I then converted the file in AVS Video Converter to MPEG-2 whilst changing its aspect ratio to 16:9. Each video had its attached audio source replaced by the audio extracted from the CD (ripped using dBpoweramp's CDGrab). The only tricky part was synching the CD audio with the video in Sony Vegas Pro 9.0. Once everything was in place, the original audio was deleted and only the CD audio was kept as it sounds a lot better than the compressed sound from TV. Each track had been ripped in .wav and then converted to MP2 at 384Kbps. I had this idea of using 5.1 audio sources for all the tracks but a few things didn't add up: the Uprising video uses the Radio Edit of the song and there's no 5.1 version of Neutron Star Collision. Thus, each music video has had its audio upmixed to a fake 5.1. Simply click on the Audio Selection button of your DVD Player remote to toggle between the original Stereo and the 5.1 tracks.
