A very special Event. The WALL, presented by Roger Waters at the end of the 2011 European Leg of the WALL Tour. This show was unique because David Gilmour appeared and played Comfortably Numb on the top of the wall. At the end of the show he and Nick Mason were also on stage and helped play Outside The Wall.

At least three tapers were there that night and a seating chart of the O2 arena allows identifcation of their location within the venue. The first was Grolsch who was in Block 111. This is located far left. The second is The Doctor who was in section B3 Row A which is centre right. The last is Lordsnooty who was in section A1 row K which is centre left. Given these locations the last two taper sources seemed ideal for producing a true stereo recording of this event. These two recording locations are almost symmetric off the midline of the venue centre. Mixing these two sources using a 2-source stereo technique resulted in this unique sonic experience.

Remaster
1. Adjust frequencies in each source/EQ
2. Sync sources
3. Patch missing sections so both recordings are complete
4. Combine sources to generate stereo field
5. Centre sound field
6. Repair clicks, loud claps and other audience noise during music
7. Attenuate audience applause, coughs and whistles
8. Re-track

Notes:
Stereo separation can be appreciated well at the end of Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) and Bring the Boys Back Home.
Waves of applause can be heard during the beginning of Comfortably Numb as more and more people realise that David Gilmour is playing on top of the wall.
The 2011 RMCH remaster of this show used techniques that were slightly different than the ones used for this recording. Better stereo field construction techniques and more finely adjusted frequency balance are here in this remaster.
