The show took place @ a new stadium, the home stadium for Spartak, one of the leading Russian football/soccer teams. It was the first concert / festival @ that venue ever. Since it was an open-air event, I bought a ticket as close to the stage as possible to get the best sound. And I was right with it – the sound on the tape turned out really nice. Moreover, much to my surprise the original sound at the gig was not that deafening, as the last time I saw Muse @ Moscow Olympiysky stadium in 2011. The only problem for me was that I had to position myself more to the left from the stage, since it was impossible to be in the dead center in front of the soundboard due to the police ‘corridor’ there to help people relocate. So I had no other choice other than stand as close to the center as possible but to the left of it. However, as I hear it, one won’t tell my position by the tape. Muse were late by 50 mins (they were to hit the stage @ 10 pm). I really enjoyed the show, although the last time in Moscow had greater impression on me. I also like the new CD a lot, so it was really enjoyable to hear the new tracks live. Out of the old tunes the guys are rarely playing during that tour I really missed Map Of Problematique and Resistance in the set. [Spoilers!] The best visual of the show was the totally unexpected explosions with lots of white&red confetti during the final part of Mercy. I was not ready for this and I even shuddered from the explosions, which turned out to be not far from me, somewhere @ the SBD, so maybe that is why they had more impression on me and looked great. White&red rays from the stage and white&red swarm of short and long strips of glittering confetti, circling in the air, and slowly falling on us. It was fantastic to be a part of it! I wonder if it was a coincidence that Spartak team colors are the same white&red? During Plug In Baby we had big black balloons ‘flyin’ on top of the crowd from the stage – but we all know that a tradition for Plug In Baby, however I forgot about it (so it was a kind of surprise for me as well). Apocalypse Please had some technical issues – the mic failed on Matt, hence we got the larger part of the song as instrumental. The show lasted for 90 mins, which is not much for a band like Muse. But frankly the time flew and I never noticed it was already 1.5 hours! I noticed that only while tracking the tape. Seeded at dimeadozen.org 02.07.2015. The same info in russian: Мой второй концерт Muse. Концерт прошёл на новом стадионе, который только что построили в качестве домашнего для 'Спартака' - одной из ведущих российских футбольных команд. Я решил взять билет максимально близко к сцене, чтобы получить максимально качественный звук. Это себя оправдало, звук на записи вышел достойным. Тем более, что как не удивительно, он не был таким оглушительным, как звук на концерте Muse в спорткомплексе Олимпийский в 2011-ом году. Единственная проблема была в том, что мне пришлось стоять левее центра сцены. Было невозможно расположиться строго по центру, перед режиссёрским пультом, так как между ним и толпой у сцены был образован живой коридор из полиции для свободного прохода людей. Ряд полицейских стоял лицом к режиссёрскому пульту, спиной к сцене, и за их спинами фан-зона уже полностью была забита народом. Так что мне ничего не оставалось, как пристроиться с левой стороны у саундборда, где не было полиции. Впрочем, как мне кажется, на записи почти не заметно, что звук смещён влево относительно центра. Muse опоздали на 50 минут (должны были выйти на сцену ровно в 22:00 по расписанию). Сам концерт мне понравился, хотя в свой прошлый приезд в Москву они меня впечатлили больше. Новый альбом мне тоже нравится, так что новые песни на концерте я слушал с удовольствием. Из старых песен, которые играют от случая к случаю в этом туре, мне не хватило Map Of Problematique и Resistance, было бы хорошо их тоже иметь в сетлисте. Лучший визуальный момент концерта - это внезапный взрыв огромным количеством бело-красных конфетти на финальной части 'Mercy'. Я был не готов к этому и даже вздрогнул от взрыва хлопушек, которые оказались расположены недалеко от меня, где-то у режиссёрского пульта - и оттого мне показалось это особенно эффектным и красивым. Красно-белые лучи со сцены и красно-белая туча сверкающих, кружащихся в воздухе, и медленно спадающих на нас коротких и длиннющих полосок конфетти. Здорово было находиться посреди всего этого! Интересно, совпадение цветов конфетти с цветами футбольной команды Спартака - это только совпадение? Во время Plug In Baby у сцены надулись огромные чёрные шары и отправились странствовать по воздуху и по рукам толпы - ну, для Plug In Baby это традиционный перфоманс, хотя я о нём успел позабыть. Технические проблемы во время исполнения Apocalypse Please - у Мэтта не работал микрофон и большая часть песни получилась инструментальной из-за этого. Концерт длился ровно 1,5 часа, что для группы такого уровня как Muse маловато. Хотя на концерте я этого не почувствовал и заметил, что прошло всего 1,5 часа, лишь взглянув на хронометраж записи.
