A dynamic and punchy copy of B Cooper's recording of the first ever performance of Dark Side Of The Moon.

After being forced to abandon DSOTM at Money due to technical problems, the nervous pressure felt by the band resulted in them going on to perform a brilliant second set.

Mr Cooper who was also responsible for recording Portsmouth on 21 January. I contacted Kbrubaker's source and he informed me that to the best of his recollection he received his copy in the 1970s.

My sincere thanks to goldenband for carefully working through my transfer. The most striking thing about this version is that there's a different source spliced in between tracks - not a different recorder but a different source tape with a noticeably different hiss profile and much slower speed than the main source. Every time there's a source change you can hear the hiss change dramatically, from the dark and airy patch source to the brighter main source.

On goldenband's advice I applied 12 separate speed corrections ranging between +3.53 to +11.6%.

Side A: DSOTM / post-song tuning
Side B: AHM / banter between AHM and CWTAE / CWTAE / between CWTAE and OOTD / OOTD / after OOTD
Side C: before Echoes / Echoes / between Echoes and ASOS / ASOS

The time taken was well worth it to restore the proper flow and balance to the recording.

I transferred Kbrubaker's tapes quite a long time ago using Audacity and went through each side repeatedly in order to get it to peak perfectly.

Before embarking on the speed correction, I used iZotope RX3’s Azimuth functions to repair the stereo imbalance and phase issues that had occurred with improper tape head alignment and other speed related issues in the lineage.

Side A: adaptive level matching right +0.42dB, delay right +18.1 samples
Side B: R +0.45dB, R +21.4 samples
Side C: R +0.40dB, R +22.1 samples
