A copy of Alain L's recording of the radio broadcast on Europe 1's Musicorama programme on 13 June 1971 between 1-2pm.

Alain was active in trading circles in the 1980s and is likely to be the source for Evelyne F's tape. She is my source, so this is possibly a 2nd gen. My thanks to lordsnooty for filling me in on the probable lineage.

My cassette gives the full AM experience - frequent static, limited frequency response and so on. It was tempting to have a go at removing the crackles and pops, along with the low pitch hum. Instead, I have kept this offering completely raw. I should also mention that the tape would benefit from a speed correction. Somebody might like to attempt a remastering.

My tape has virtually no signal in the left channel, a good sign for a mono recording, and is strong on the right, so it was a simple choice to just record the right. Tracks 1-3 are on side A and AHM is on B.

Atom Heart Mother features a 20-piece choir, plus three trombones, three trumpets and one tuba, conducted by Alan Aldiss.

Charles B, 1970-01-23 recorder 4, remembers listening to recordings of ASOS from this concert. Several school friends in the 70's recorded part of the show from the radio onto reel to reels. Let's hope that the complete archive recording is released one day.
