Comments: This show really must be listened to with headphones, since there a lot of details and nuances in the performance that are well worth listening to. For example, note Rick's fade-out at the end of 'Eclipsed'.

Disc one has a few minor dropouts early in the master tape, but they are not too distracting. There is also one small dropout in 'One Of These Days', and the closing stanza of 'Echoes'.

sound quality is not extraordinarily better than my second gen. as I did hope it was ... but this is actually the uncut version including all the recording - nothing omitted, so if you don't get a significant upgrade in sound you'd at least get something more in length ;)

notes as they came with the files:
Absolutely fantastic recording of the first of the nights at the Rainbow Theatre in 1972, and also the show where the press was introduced to 'Dark Side Of The Moon', or 'Eclipse' as it was called then. Recommended to everyone. Virtually no hiss at all on this one.
This show really must be listened to with headphones, since there's a lot of details and nuances in the performance that are well worth listening to. For example, note Rick's fade-out at the end of 'Eclipsed'.
Disc one has a few minor dropouts early in the master tape, and two cuts in 'Time' on the first chorus, but they are not too distracting. There is also one small dropout in 'One Of These Days', and the closing stanza of 'Echoes'.

this was discovered to be a 1st generation Hi-Fi.
Exact lineage is: cass[Master] > Hi-Fi > DAT(4) > CDR(?)

at least i could get this wonderful 1st gen, which first it was claimed as master but now it is confirmed that it has a Hi-Fi generation. Great sound, a nice EX in my book (you could give it an EX- if you're too critic... but i think it sounds great). Recommended, you should seek for this one. -gotta_be_crazy
