Syd Barrett - You Got It Now!
A lovingly compiled collection of alternate mixes and unreleased tracks ~ 1968 - 1974.

SIDE ONE

1. Wouldn't You Miss Me (Dark Globe) - Take One (3:00)
Recorded: Sunday 26th July 1969, Studio 2, EMI Studios, 3 Abbey Road, St. John's Wood, London, NW8.
Producers: David Gilmour / Roger Waters. Engineers: Anthony Clarke / Neil Richmond.
The beautiful and haunting double tracked vocal version mixed by Malcolm Jones in 1987. An earlier take of 'Dark Globe' from Thursday 12th June was used on 'The Madcap Laughs', while the harmony on this was removed and eventually issued on 'Opel'.

2. She Took A Long Cold Look At Me - Take Five (1:50)
Recorded: Sunday 26th July 1969, Studio 2, EMI Studios, 3 Abbey Road, St. John's Wood, London, NW8.
Producers: David Gilmour / Roger Waters. Engineers: Anthony Clarke / Neil Richmond.
A wonderful little ditty! The same take was used on 'The Madcap Laughs', but here the mix made by Malcolm Jones in 1987 removes echo on the vocal track. Syd's comment of 'That's short' at the end is also missing.

3. Wined And Dined - Takes 1 & 2 (4:00)
Recorded: Sunday 7th June 1970, Studio 2, EMI Studios, 3 Abbey Road, St. John's Wood, London, NW8.
Producer: David Gilmour. Engineers: Alan Parsons / Richard Langham.
The basic track which features just guitar and vocals. The first take was a false start, while the second was complete.
Take ten was overdubbed and released on the second solo album 'Barrett'.

4. Golden Hair - Instrumental Version #2 (2:20)
Recorded: Tuesday 14th May 1968, Studio 3, EMI Studios, 3 Abbey Road, St. John's Wood, London, NW8.
Producer: Peter Jenner. Engineers: Peter Brown / Richard Langham.
An early unreleased take of guitar and vibes only. Syd would go back and re-record this song over a year later, and was released as the b-side of 'Octopus' and on 'The Madcap Laughs'.

5. Dylan Blues (3:12)
Recorded: Friday 27th February 1970, Studio 2, EMI Studios, 3 Abbey Road, St. John's Wood, London, NW8.
Producer: David Gilmour. Engineers: Peter Bown / Alan Parsons / John Leckie.
The long rumoured song that finally saw the light of day in 2001. A cheeky lighthearted dig at one of Syd's heroes, in the style of...

6. Religious Experience (Singing A Song In The Morning) - Take Ten (4:47)
Recorded: December 17th 1969, Studio 2, EMI Studios, 3 Abbey Road, St. John's Wood, London, NW8.
Producer: Peter Jenner. Engineers: Michael Stone / Tony Mone.
Other than Pink Floyd, this is the only other known studio collaboration that Barrett recorded. At the time Harvest label-mate Kevin Ayers required extra guitar on the song 'Religious Experience', eventually re-recorded and released as 'Singing A Song In The Morning'.
Barrett's guitar contribution was removed from the final master, and was another long-lost rumoured-to-exist recording.
This gem finally appeared in 2003. Check out Ayers 'Syd do that thing' comment before the count-in!

Recorded: Monday 12th August 1974, Studio Unknown (Possibly 3), EMI Studios, 3 Abbey Road, St. John's Wood, London, NW8.
Producer: Peter Jenner. Engineers: John Leckie / Pat Stapley.
Finally, 11 instrumentals from the legendary 1974 sessions! 6 have never circulated among collectors before! Studio time was booked and work commenced on Monday 12th, Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th of August. Producer Peter Jenner returned to the studio on the 13th and compiled a single reel of 'oddments' from the first day's session.
These were to be the last studio recordings Barrett ever made.

Lovingly compiled by The Rover. With thanks to RR. All recordings are privately sourced - not from the 'Have You Got It Yet?' CD series.
Dedicated to the Unforgotten Heroes: Bernard White, John Peel and Syd...
