| Recorded at the Westfalenhalle, Dortmund, Germany. Very good audience recording. Sound is a bit distorted sometimes. From the info file: A Ratpie production: RPfdvd05a / RPfdvd05b PINK FLOYD Dortmund, June 28, 1988 version 'C' I know there are at least four different filmings of this show, but the one I'm going to share is somewhat different. First of all, it has never been circulated before; secondly, it comes from my own VHS, recorded from the master tapes themselves. It is filmed from the left side of the stage, this time not from the parterre but from a vantage point. With a high quality zoom lens, the filmer managed to zoom-in up to a 3/4 screen's full figure. Certainly not the closest video from this date. But the high point of this version are definition and colours. Colours are so neat, never melting with each other; i.e. when you see a coloured laser you don't watch at a white strip with some colour on its margin, but a well-defined blade of colour... ...and from other amatorial recordings I never noticed they had used deep-red lasers back in 1988. It hasn't been shot from a tripod, but the hand of the filmer was steady enough most of the time. In my point of view, in its own way this video doesn't seem to belong to the 80s, but a decade later. I was digitising it for my own archival purpose, when I realized that it deserved to be shared. Everything else is well-known; screens, lighting, flames, small figures on a stage, tracklist.
