Comments

This is a direct transfer from 21 year old master recording on a good old TDK AD90. No noise reduction was used (not present on this recorder) so, given the quality of the tape, tape hiss is audible, but not overly so.
The transfer was from tape deck (Aiwa AD-F800) to Audio CD recorder, then EAC to WAV to FLAC.

The recording is stereo, using a stand mounted mic - this can be heard being moved about between tracks.

This is a very good relatively early audience recording which, although short, I'd rate highly (A-/B+). There i however a short edit in 'Enemy' due to a tape filp at about 9min in. :-(

IQ were the support band this night (I can't recall the headliners but they were a non-descript pub band). IQ got a very persistent call for an encore (I'd stopped recording by then) and came back and tried to persuade the pub to let them do another but it was refused. It is of note that practically everyone left the pub when the headliners came on!!

This was my first experience of Gateway - still in it's embryonic form and ending after the 'I wouldn't let you down again' section. A classic in the making!
