The first of three Machine shows I've taped and one of my earliest taping efforts overall. I taped this from the very back of the pit, dead center, resulting in a very warm, lush, rich recording. Theres a little more audience chatter due to this, but its not too intruding. The Trial is absolutely fantastic here, as is Shine On VI-IX, which has one of my favorite moments of any show I've been to; its amazing what a well timed whistle can do, as heard in the sample below. Have a Cigar and Sorrow also stand out particularly this night. One of These Days goes without saying. All in all one of my favorite recordings that I've done. Special thanks to The Machine for still going strong, for being the best Floyd Tribute I've heard, and for being great guys overall. |
