Pink Floyd Video EP (?alternate?)

Hello All.

While this is not a new stuff this maybe at least (I hope) an upgrade in quality. My copy is sourced from an 1' tv tape, dubbed onto betacam SP back in 1990 from a tv station I was working for at the time.

The sound wasn't good at all but I fixed it using the audio from the CD.

That's only when I did the transfert recently that I noticed my copy had a different running order than the commercial VHS.

Instead of :

1. The Gunner's Dream 2. The Final Cut 3. Not Now John 4. The Fletcher Memorial

I have :

1. The Gunner's Dream 2. Not Now John 3. The Fletcher Memorial Home 4. The Final Cut (appart).

This makes the first three songs linked by Alex McAvoy (Teacher in The Wall) watching the end of the previous song into his TV ; zapping ; and looking at the new program being the next song.

OK, this may be a bit confused at first, but if you watch this, you'll understand ;-)

This is the only 'alternate' stuff herre, but this makes sense.

'The Final Cut' was appart and I did a short cross fade with the end of 'The Fletcher Memorial Home'.

A/V infos are (for the pointers ;-) :

Lineage : quite close to the original film (? film > telecine > 1' video tape master for EMI UK ? > 1' video tape tv master > Betacam SP > DV25 )
Audio : 1994 CD re-master ; upsampled with audition to 48kHz

Compression :

Video : 6Mbs ; VBR ; 2Pass (Adobe Media Encoder)
Audio : PCM 48kHz

Also, I don't know if this is allowed on this tracker, but for those of you who are Rapidshare friendly, you can find it at this address :

I don't if somebody already noticed, but the version of Not Now John is unique !

This TV version of Not Now John is actually 15 seconds longer than the clip you have on the VHS release. And the song is not censored here (you have the F* word in the TV version, while on the VHS release they replaced the audio with the 'Stop all that' overdubbed vocals, and did an early fade out to finish just before the sentence 'hey, where's the f* bar John'). This explains why 15 seconds of the original clip were edited in the VHS version.

So this is really an alternate version for TV stations, not only a different order, but also a longer version of Not Now John.

And talking about quality, this is a definitve upgrade compared to the best circulating version until now, which was POTW DVD 023.
Better image stability, better details.

Thanks JM !!!
