Notes
This is the programme 'The Record Producers', edited out of the 9 1/2 hour broadcast on BBC 6 Music. Excellent, and very interesting. This is an mp2 file.

From the info file:

Pink Floyd 2011-10-07 The Record Producers (ext. version) [mp2]
hey all,

as much fun as it is to listen to the whole 9 hours of the BBC Pink Floyd Night neonknight provided for us, all i'm really gonna keep is the 90 minutes version of 'The Record Producers'; so i used mp3directcut to edit those 90 minutes out from the original file (no re-encoding involved).

so for those of you who also only want that programme and with the kind approval of neonknight here is just that -

the 90 minutes extended version of:

The Record Producers - Pink Floyd

Richard Allinson and Steve Levine look at the work of Pink Floyd in the latest edition of Record Producers. The programme concentrates on the early days of the band and the development of their sound from the late 60s through to the mid 70s

Amongst the contributors to the programme are Joe Boyd, Floyd's producer for their first single Arnold Layne; John Leckie, who engineered the band's album Meddle; and Clare Torry, whose vocal performance on The Great Gig In The Sky is one of the highlights of Dark Side Of The Moon.

There are new interviews with guitarist David Gilmour and percussionist Nick Mason, and Richard and Steve have access to the original multitrack recordings of some of Pink Floyd's best work from this period. These highlights include the four track tapes of Arnold Layne; their masterpiece Echoes (which began as an eight track recording - but later expanded to 16); the 16 track recordings of Money and Great Gig In The Sky from the seminal Dark Side Of The Moon album, and 24 track recordings from their 1975 release Wish You Were Here, including the epic Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

Exclusive to the extended version of the programme for 6 Music is an in-depth look at the recording of the song Breathe, from Dark Side Of The Moon; as well as the discovery of an early recording which Steve Levine found by accident hidden on the Arnold Layne tape!

UPDATE:

when i did the extraction of this show from the 9 hour file i didn't have the time to actually listen to it; now last week i finally had the chance to do just that and realized there was a small news segment in there.... damn! pretty annoying, i should of course have edited that out as well before posting the torrent here! i'm a bit embarassed.

anyway, i did cut out the news segment now (no reencoding involved, as before), but rather than starting a new torrent i decided to simply upload the file onto a download service page so you can all just download it from there. i hope that works for everybody. it's basically the same file minus the news segment. unfortunately mp3directcut can't for some reason do fades on mp2 files so the cut isn't perfect. but it's certainly better than having the news segment in there.

again - my apologies. should have listened first. oh well.
